I learned something new today...

Did you know that if you feed a 2 year old brownies with whipped cream on top he will explode with excitement? Same goes with a 6 year old. I didn't know this. I didn't think that a .68cent package of brownie mix and a 1.00 tub of whipped cream would cause such a ruckus but boy did it!
I thought that today for our Friday super snack I would go el cheapo and just get something small. This something small turned into a huge deal for the boys. It must be the whipped cream. Whipped cream makes everything better.
Today is also my best friend Ginger's birthday. So we put candles on top of the brownies and sang happy birthday to celebrate the occasion. Too bad she is all the they way in Virginia, I guess we will just have to eat all the brownies ourselves. Happy Birthday Ging!

Still here

I'm writing to you from a remote location. We need to be very quiet. There are wild animals lurking around every corner and crazy natives watching me closely.
I'm joking. I'm down at my parents. I guess there are wild animals, Nathan, Brandon and Skeeter (my parents dog) and the crazy natives...I'll give you two guesses who that could be!
Sorry I haven't written too much lately. Brian "fixed" our computer last week so on his days off this week we will be purchasing a new one. He tried and usually whatever he tries to fix actually works, but this time things just didn't go like he had planned out in his head.
Not much has happened this week. Nathan went to school, Brandon played, Brian worked and I ate bon bons and watched my stories on tv (I wish).
I'll be back as soon as we get a new computer.
The picture is when Nathan got in trouble and had to stand in the corner. Brandon has to do what his big brother does so he stood there with him the entire time.

Happy Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's day! I love little homemade cards and pictures that my boys draw. I love how Brandon says "happy vaamamama day." I love to make special treats like rice crispy treats dipped in chocolate and key lime cheesecake in the shape of a heart. I love how Brian gives me money so I can go buy my own flowers. But I think my absolute favorite activity this year was getting to go to Nathans first school Valentine's party. Celebrating V-Day kindergarten style is so much fun! They had chocolate cupcakes slathered with fluorescent pink icing that made their teeth glow, relay races with candy hearts balanced on their noses and sang silly little songs. Not much can beat that.

A light saber kind of night

Last night our electricity went out. When the lights go out it's time to break out the glow sticks. Blue and red were the top choices last night which reminded Nathan of Star Wars. He and Brandon fought with their light sabers in the kitchen for 20 minutes then I talked Nathan into running around the house like a police car. He twirled the lights above his head and "woo-wooed" like a police car. I laughed until I cried. I love talking him into silly things like that.
After we put Brandon to bed, glow sticks work well for night lites too, Nathan and I camped out in the living room. I lit some candles, he got a couple of flash lights and we told stories and read books until Brian got home. After Brian told us about his day we put Nathan to bed.
I bet you're wondering what Brian and I did since the lights were out?
We did what most married couples do, we went to sleep.
Get your minds out of the gutter!

Rockin' Out

Loud music, macaroni and cheese, kool-aid and dancing make Brandon throw up. And now you know, as do I, to never let him rock out on a full tummy.
On a more pleasant note, Nathan finished all of his Valentine cards for his class this afternoon. He can't wait for their party on Friday. Me either, I'm volunteering in the class that day. It is so fun to go to school with him. It's bittersweet though. It's fun to see him interact with his friends and it's nice to see how well he listens to his teacher. Then I realize that he doesn't need me to hold his hand every second of the day anymore. Ooh that hurts.
Also, Nathan was awarded the "Be your best" award for being respectful in class last week. And as his reward his teacher gave him a certificate for an ice cream cone.
Rock on little man!

Cinnamon Rolls

We made cinnamon rolls this morning for breakfast.

Guess who couldn't wait to eat them!

Have a great weekend.

We don't need no stinkin' napkins!

Why use a napkin when you shirt sleeve does just as good of a job?
Chocolate pudding, mac and cheese, milk mustache, it doesn't matter how big or how little the mess my boys will always use their sleeves before a napkin. Why is that? What is wrong with the napkins I buy? They're soft and have pretty little designs on them.
Tonight for dinner I didn't say a word about using a napkin. I placed one napkin under their forks and stood back and just watched them. Brandon grabbed his napkin first, balled it up and threw it on the floor. I know what he is thinking..."if I can't eat it I don't want it!"
Nathan didn't even notice his napkin. It just sat on the table next to him in pristine condition.
They ate and ate and ate and at the end of their meal wiped their mouths with, what else, their sleeves.
I'm glad I own plenty of stain remover because I don't ever see this ending. Especially when I catch Brian doing the same thing.

Finally...

After one hour, three computer freeze ups and a few choice words, I finally got a couple of pictures posted of my boys. Holy cow!

This first one is of Nathan. I love that he finally lost both of his front teeth. Isn't he cute!

And this next one is of Brandon. Big brown eyes and rosey cheeks! Love 'em!

I would write more but I'm afraid my computer will start smoking. We'll catch up later.
